About Care Wings

Care Wings is a care agency in Stoke on Trent specialising in home care among other services. We provide services to adults, families, and young people in Stoke On Trent and other areas in Staffordshire and the West Midlands. Our specialist care services include day care opportunities, live-in care, autism respite care and emergency care at home.

The management team behind Care Wings are professionals in their own right with qualifications in nursing, social work, health and social care, and public health. They have vast experience working in various social care departments, private care and for the NHS.

Care Wings has been established to suppliment the care currently being provided in the community.Over the years, we have been shocked by hearing about some negative experiences and the state of affairs in social care services.

At Care Wings, we offer an independent, tailored, person-centred, anti-oppressive, and anti-discriminatory service. We are guided by our values of confidentiality and privacy and by our ethos of providing ‘care as it should be’.

Care Wings aims to ensure that people who use our services are assisted in making their own decisions and feel that they are treated with respect and dignity. We will always value people using our services and endeavour to work safely while providing quality care. We aim to provide relaxed,non-intrusive services at convenient times agreed by you.

We believe our services can make a difference! We always work in partnership with service users and other stakeholders. We value feedback from our service users and conduct various audits to ensure quality care. The audits are designed to highlight areas we are doing well and those needing improvement. We aim to employ and adopt the recommended changes as soon as possible.

Care Wings aims to meet all employment legislation and be a responsible employer and care provider. Our organisation has embedded health and safety procedures throughout our service delivery.

Care Wings believes that to provide quality service, we have to invest in our workforce. We start with a comprehensive recruitment process, which includes an interview and following up on references. We also verify professional competency, reliability, timekeeping, and many other qualities that make a good worker.

All carers will have an enhanced DBS check and training opportunities. Our workers are trained to deliver a high-quality service. They will all hold a minimum or be working towards obtaining RQF qualifications in Adult Care or the diploma for working with young people. There will be statutory training in manual handling, risk assessments, health and safety, confidentiality, and vulnerable adults awareness.

All new carers will receive an induction, which includes familiarising themselves with policies and procedures and shadowing other experienced workers. They will also receive regular supervision, team meetings, and a personal development review annually. All workers will be expected to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviour necessary for good, safe working practices.
